Air Source Heat Pumps – Creating Energy Out of Thin Air!

Air Source Heat Pumps – creating energy out of thin air!

Holding our natural environment in high regard, we aim to offer a range of eco-friendly alternatives. We find ways to help people reduce their carbon footprint while also, often, saving them money. Air source heat pumps are becoming increasingly popular as a highly efficient alternative to gas or oil-fired central heating. If you’ve never heard of an air source heat pump before, then read on.

How do they work?

Air source heat pumps take free heat from the air outside your home, in a similar way to how the back of your fridge gets hot because it removes heat from inside. The pump cleverly concentrates that heat energy for use in your heating and hot water system. They’re suitable for use with most heating set-ups and offer a fantastic solution for rural properties that no longer want to rely on a traditional oil system.

There are several benefits to installing an air source heat pump:

  • In smaller properties that don’t have access to mains gas, heat pumps have the potential to significantly lower fuel bills.
  • They generate more energy than they use, making them highly efficient, especially in properties that are well insulated.
  • They eliminate the need for clunky space-taking oil tanks.
  • They are around three times more efficient than a traditional boiler, so you can reduce you energy bills and feel confident that you’re also reducing your impact on the environment.
  • They can qualify for the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme, which helps to offset the cost of installation.
  • All systems installed & commissioned come with a minimum 7 years warranty.

The unit needs to be installed somewhere near your property, in an area with good air flow. If you would like us to come and assess your property and heating system to find out whether it would be suitable for an air source heat pump, get in touch.
